Professional Development is one of the most valuable assets to the Hoosier PRSA Chapter. In addition to the regular monthly luncheons and meet the media events, members and non-members can engage in professional development opportunities through continuing education workshops and other programs that explore new trends in the industry and examine key issues. The 2012 Indiana Public Relations Leadership Summit will shine a light on the vital benefits small and mid-sized agencies bring to their clients and to the profession.

The year, IRPLS will focus on:

  • The importance of small to mid-size firms to clients and the public relations profession.
  • The competitive strengths of small agencies
  • Why small and mid-size agencies are an increasingly common business model
  • The benefits clients gain from working with small and mid-size agencies
  • The working environment at small and mid-sized firms.

David and Marilyn Shank, the founders of Shank Public Relations Counselors will be our keynote speakers at IPRLS. The Ball State National Public Relations Achievement Award will also be presented to David and Marilyn during the conference, in recognition of their long service to the profession.

The Shanks will be joined at the conference by representatives of several other innovative and rapidly growing public relations agencies, including Bohlsen, Dittoe and BlastMedia.

The conference begins with coffee, registration and networking from 8:30-9.  The program begins with our first speaker, Vicki Bohlsen, at 9.  She will be followed by a panel discussion and lunch.

After lunch we will present the National Public Relations Achievement Award to David Marilyn and hear their keynote address on the small agency business model.

Cost: $40 for professionals, $20 for students
