PRSSA

The Hoosier Chapter’s PRSSA committee is designed to assist Indiana student chapters by: 1) providing access to professional development opportunities and 2) serving the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals.

The Hoosier Chapter’s PRSSA committee also sponsors several events throughout the year for area PRSSA members including:

  • Joanne Dring Memorial Scholarship: Applications are open for submission each fall on hoosierprsa.org and are awarded to one undergraduate PR student
  • Mel Sharpe Graduate Scholarship: Applications are open for submission each fall on hoosierprsa.org and are awarded to one Graduate PR student
  • Half Day with a Pro: A recognized program pairing students with PR Professionals for a half day on-the-job experience. The day culminates at the month’s PRSA luncheon, where students are recognized and scholarships are awarded every fall.

PRSA also encourages sponsored chapters to make speaker requests for PRSSA events as well as maintain up-to-date chapter officer contact information with the PRSA Committee. For more information or to get involved, contact the PRSSA Committee at prssa@prsahoosier.org.

Half Day with a Pro
This long-standing Hoosier PRSA tradition allows for students to job shadow PR professionals for a full morning at their respective company. The job shadowing culminates at the November 9th luncheon. This is a great opportunity for students to build relationships, mentors, ask for resume critiques, and learn about internship opportunities. We encourage all student members to register for the event. Click here to fill out the application and submit to prssa@prsahoosier.org by October 12.

PRSA members wishing to have a student(s) shadow them, should click here, complete the form and return it to prssa@prsahoosier.org by October 12 as well.
