PRESIDENT’S COLUMN

May 2012

I’ll admit it. I am unfortunately a pretty serious person. We PR types seem to be a thoughtful crowd, what with issues management, transparency, goals and objectives, and all that measurement and strategic thinking. Sometimes we don’t even get to enjoy our own events because we’re so focused on making sure they unfold perfectly.

Well, we have a solution to that problem in Indianapolis. It’s called May. May is the month to party! And our Pinnacle Awards team has come up with a stellar event you won’t want to miss.

First of all, it’s at the spectacular newly renovated historic property of Indiana Landmarks. The food will be terrific because it’s catered by MPB Distinctive Catering. And the company will be outstanding because, well, it’s us! And among us will be 34 award winners including both professionals and students.

This year, we’ll be able to get a little closer look at the work that was entered. It will be displayed on boards during the cocktail hour beginning at 5:00 pm.  Who knows – there might even be a little musical entertainment to accompany the fun. And a great speaker at dinner to enlighten us and help us fete our winners.

Seriously (there she goes again), it’s going to be a great evening, honoring the best work of the year by Hoosier PR pros. That’s cause enough to celebrate. I hope you’ll join us, May 16, 5:00 – 8:00 pm at 1201 Central Avenue, Indianapolis.
